Abstract
A guide to the bird species of Christmas Island with a full page of text and photographs devoted to each of the 18 seabirds and one landbird that reside on the island. Additional text and photographs of 6 migrants that visit the island seasonally and one extinct species. Introductory material on historical and ongoing impacts on this, the world’s largest tropical-seabird colony, educational programs designed to alleviate these impacts, and conservation measures designed to restore and sustainably manage this important avian resource. Parallel text in English and Kiribati.
