Maryland Birdlife

Maryland Birdlife

Maryland Birdlife is published semiannually to record and encourage the study of birds in and around Maryland. Originally conceived as a quarterly booklet, Maryland Birdlife was edited for many decades by world-renowned ornithologist Chandler S. Robbins. The final issue under his esteemed oversight was published in 2014. Gene Scarpulla began as Editor in 2015.

Maryland Birdlife contains original articles, notes, and research papers primarily pertaining to Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region. Potential topics may include geographic or temporal distribution, ecology, biology, morphology, systematics, behavior, migration, life history, as well as other biological topics. Annual bird counts are also published. All submissions are subject to editorial review and acceptance. Articles and research papers will be peer-reviewed.

An indexed CD of Maryland Birdlife, which contains Volumes 1 through 55 (1945–1999) and can be browsed by date and searched for keywords, is available from the MOS Logo Shop.

Paper copies of Maryland Birdlife are provided to members of MOS as part of their membership package. The two most recent volumes are not available online and are only available through Society membership. To receive your semiannual issues, join MOS today!

MOS members and others who may have future contributions are urged to contact the Editor at ejscarp@comcast.net.
