Banding at the Kalamazoo Nature Center and Pitsfield a 30 year history.
RAYMOND J. ADAMS, Jr., Kalamazoo Nature Center, Kalamazoo, MI.
Banding began in the early 1970s at the Kalamazoo Nature Center, where a limited program of fall banding was first established. By 1975, several trails had been added as well as the banding program expanded to include nest box species and blackbird traps. In 1990, the Pitsfield site was added when the MAPS program was begun by the Institute for Bird Populations. Thousands of birds have been banded through this program.
