American Redstart in Southern California.-On June 9, 1944, for over twenty minutes, beginning at 3 p.m., I watched an immature male American Redstart (Setopkaga ruticilla) in an English walnut tree in our back yard on North Garfield Avenue, Alhambra, California. I was able to approach as close as 15 feet to it, when it was in the lower branches. It sang most of the time.- MARGUERITTE D. PARKER, Alhambra, California, June 20,1944.
